Theme of her Tribute film “Christmas With You”
Torres is the mother of German writer Michael Torres, who tragically died in July 2020, and author of Christmas with You. In a sad Instagram post honoring his mother’s demise, German confirmed the news. The movie pauses to honor a very unique person after taking audiences on an emotional journey through Christmas With You.
Prior to the end credits, a touching title card with the following straightforward message appears on screen:
“In the Memory of Angelina Chavez Torres.”
German used the In Memoriam title card in Christmas with You as a means of honoring his late mother. As demonstrated by German’s homage to his mother in Christmas with You, it is common for artists to dedicate segments of their work of art to their beloved ones.
Since Angelina wasn’t a part of the film, it’s normal for the audience not to get familiar with it. She is not a part of the team that worked on making Christmas with You either, but she is very close to one of the people who made the movie.
